Will Island's Tesco store feature in cut back plans

Thu, 08 Jan 2015

It's currently unknown if the Isle of Man will feature in Tesco's plans as they announce a raft of measures to revive their ailing fortunes.

With the company's pension deficit and debt levels continuing to grow they are set to close 43 unprofitable stores, and shut their main headquarters in Hertfordshire.

It's all part of plans to reduce its capital expenditure for next year to £1 billion.

However with the Island's store regarded as a profitable enterprise it is unlikely that it will factor in their plans.

In total the supermarket giants operate 3,370 stores across the UK.
