Police urge people to lock up after increase in burglaries

It's no longer safe to leave your house or car unlocked on the Isle of Man.

That's the message from police following a recent spate of burglaries which have resulted in a number of people being arrested.

17 homes have been broken into since July and car thefts have risen dramatically in the last week - in most cases both had been left unsecure.

Sergeant Andy Kneen, from the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team, says people can take steps to mitigate the problem:
