Action being taken after 2009 petition

A Petition for Redress of Grievance presented on Tynwald Day 2009 will progress in next week's sitting of Tynwald.

The petition urged government to make changes to the domestic rating system for Douglas residents.

The petitioner felt people living in Douglas were paying inflated rates and those coming into the town were reaping the benefits.

Douglas West MHK Chris Thomas chaired the committee which looked into this - he'll present six recommendations during next Tuesday's sitting:
