Ayre Clay Target Club hosted the final rounds of their Olympic Skeet and Olympic Trap summer leagues at Blue Point in perfect conditions on Sunday.
Dave Walton won the 50 target Trap competition, scoring 46. Mike Walker and Rob Watterson were joint second on 42. Junior shooter Jack Kneen shot well in his first Trap shoot, scoring a 22 in the first round, just losing concentration in the second round to finish with a total score of 37.
Walton also took the league win on zero penalty points from Neil Parsons on 5 with Watterson third on 16.
Nigel Kelly won the Skeet competition with 46/50. Glenn Catlin was second on 43 with James Bradley third on 38. Kelly took the league with zero points, Dave Clague was second on 13 with Bradley one behind on 14.
This week is a 100 target down the line selection shoot, kindly sponsored by Dave and Pam Corlett. Entries close at 10.15am. There is also an afternoon double trap 60 target competition. Entries close at 12.30pm.
