Duncalf masters the tricky conditions at Sinclair
The IoM Shooting Club Monday night matches were shot in very awkward conditions when a strong, tricky wind caused problems for all except, it appears, Mike Duncalf who’s result of 587 x 600 in the Osborn Carpets 2nd 600 was 8 points clear of second placed shooter, John Wood. During the match, a heavy downpour added to the nasty conditions. Full results were:-

Wood takes the Empire Garage Tynwald Shield Handicap match from Duncalf
In the second match of the evening, the Empire Garage Tynwald Shield round 17, the result was reversed with John Wood taking the win from Mike Duncalf on the final series of the evening – a 98 to Duncalf’s 97. Full results posted were:-

Round 17 of the Sadler Junior Championship goes Kelly’s way
Due to holidays, just two juniors took part in the Sadler Championship and the win went to Ben Kelly with 98, 97, 96, = 291 x 300 from Illiam Christian on 92, 95, 93 = 280.
3 enjoy Bisley week for the first time with Clague winning Class B in The News of The World Cup
Three members of The Isle of Man Shooting Club, Mike Clague, Suzanne McKnight and Tracey Skelton, spent last week at Bisley Week in Surrey and appeared to enjoy the week long experience. All three were shooting in Class B of each competition. Weather conditions varied throughout the week from horizontal rain and some flooding, to brilliant sunshine even though, the trio’s spirits were not dampened.

Dates for your Diaries
This evening, will see the eighteenth and final round for the 2014 season of Empire Garage Tynwald Shield Handicap, The Sadler Junior Championship Scratch 300 and the 8th and final round of The Osborn Carpets 2nd 600 scratch match. The summer competition season ends this evening and the 18 weeks appear to have flown over very quickly, however it is intended to convert the range for indoor use for teams to start training for the IoM Rifle Association Winter League as soon as possible.
The clubs September Handicap will commence at 10.30 am on Sunday, September 7th with the Annual General Meeting of the IoM Shooting Club scheduled for the following evening, September 8th at 7.30 pm.
