Man wanted in connection with serious assault

Police are hunting for a 29-year-old man who’s wanted in connection with a serious assault – but there is a warning he should not be approached.

They want to trace Mark William Thomas Bell as soon as possible following the incident which happened at around 8.50pm on Thursday in the area of Demsene Road in Douglas.

A 23-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was hospitalised as a result – it’s understood the man and woman were known to each other.

Police say if Mr Bell is seen they should be contacted immediately but they do not believe there is a direct risk to the public.

They say anyone harbouring him, or impeding his arrest, could be subject to an investigation themselves.
