Lifeboat called out to assist Douglas bound yacht
Wed, 28 May 2014
The RNLI all weather lifeboat was called into action yesterday to aid a yacht which had lost all power.
The Sir William Hillary boat was despatched to the help a vessell that had left Barrow earlier in the day bound for Douglas.
It lost its power just as it was entering Douglas Bay.
The yacht was brought into Douglas to a berth, there were no injuries to the two people on board.
After returning to the station the lifeboat was re-housed, washed down, re-fuelled and ready again for service by 11.23pm.
