How does IGCSE compare to current system?

Mon, 26 May 2014

Over 80% of respondents to a recent consultation on the future of the 14-16 qualification say a change to the international GCSE would be acceptable.

The Island has a number of options as to how it proceeds, following the UK's lead would bring an end to coursework and tiered papers.

The IGCSE offers more than 70 subject titles and is provided by Cambridge University.

A move to the ICGSE would see the option of coursework kept for students, tiered papers and the A* to G marking system would also remain.

It's currently offered in more than 140 countries with over half a million entries every year.
