The under 21 series runs in exactly the same manner as the two competitions above, 8 cards shot over 4 months and the 2013/14 winner is Sulby Cossacks shooter Jess Clague, who claimed the competition with a lead of 10 shots. Clague was the only shooter to hit 100 and apart from just one card, her consistency proofed the winner. Well done Jess, excellent results. Full results are:-
1 – Clague 97, 99, 98, 93, 99, 99, 100, 98 =783,
2 – Illiam Christian (Kirk Michael) 98, 97, 97, 93, 98, 94, 98, 98 = 773,
3 – Fergus Coulter (CSSKS) 98, 96, 94, 95, 92, 97, 98, 95 = 765,
4 – Thomas Clague (IoMSCD) 94, 96, 93, 95, 97, 96, 97, 95 = 763,
5 – Aaron Astill (IoMSCD) 91, 81, 91, 92, 93, 91, 91, 92 = 722,
6 – Duncan Watterson (CSTN) 88, 90, 94, 90, 83, 90, 89, 91 = 715,
7 – Anthony Cawte (CSSKS) 96, 89, 82, 85, 86, 90, 90, 95 = 713,
8 – Jemima Coulter (CSSKS) 90, 85, 90, 85, 85, 88, 85, 84 = 692.
Tim Hardisty, unfortunately did not manage to complete the series. Some of the results above have shown that shooting is a thriving sport and has a bright outlook for locals.
Ten locals ‘invade’ Bisley
Ten local shooters including three juniors, travelled to Bisley for the annual British Free Rifle Prone competition and joined up with Harry Creevy, Rachel Glover, Lara Ward and Gemma Kermode who made their own way South. The experience for many of the shooters has been applauded and some good scores were shot by several. The weather was not very kind to the party and that showed on the results board as there were a few sad faces once the scores were posted. In BFR match 1, both Rachel Glover and Mike Duncalf managed to make the final 8, Glover’s score of 587 x 600 was joint top score, Duncalf managed a 582 x 600, both excellent scores. Remaining scores were :-
Lara Ward 95, 95, 97, 94, 100, 97 = 578,
Tracey Skelton 97, 97, 95, 94, 98, 97 = 578,

Perryn Callister 98, 94, 96, 94, 98, 91 = 571,
Gemma Kermode 95, 93, 94, 96, 96, 97 = 571,
Harry Creevy 96, 95, 92, 97, 97, 94 = 571,

In BFR match 2, Harry Creevy posting a 580 x 600 and Lara Ward on 576, managed to make the eight-man final, but Creevy had to withdraw to concentrate on the 300 yard range and Ward had to fly back to the Island to attend the Kelly Holmes event on Sunday. Other results were: -
Andy Potter 94, 96, 95, 97, 95, 97 = 574,
Rachel Glover 96, 93, 97, 97, 97, 94 = 574,
