Mike Duncalf and Martin Burns both recorded 99’s, the highest scores of the four matches in the IoMRA winter league, for IoMSC Douglas on Monday evening. The Division 1 5 man team posted 490 x 500 which was also the highest team score of this week’s matches and the unfortunate opposition was Cossacks who seemingly had a score considerably lower than they normally produce of 471. IoMSC Douglas were victorious in all three divisions. Surprisingly, Jess Clague, who is normally posting terrific results, had a very bad match and I would assume she would prefer to forget Monday evening in general.

Port St Mary had the long trip up to the Glen Gardens in Laxey and for the second week in succession, ended up the losers by just a single point. The hosts had Harry Creevy and Nick Kennish leading the Laxey Division 1 team with 98’s which was equalled by the visitors with Harry Harrison and Ashley Gardner (Jnr) both on 98’s. It appears that Laxey’ s Stephen Curphey had the winning score of 97 as fifth man, one point ahead of the Port’s Ashley Gardner (Snr).

A fourteen man team of Sulby hosted an equal sized team of IoMSC Sandsiders and an exceptionally close match ensued in all three divisions. Division 1 resulted in a draw but by very close scores, the visitors secured Divisions 2 and 3. Highest score for Sulby went to Julian Teare on 98 closely followed by Orry Teare and Mark Cain on 96. The visitors were headed by Bill Jones on 98 with daughter Marion just a single point behind.

Kirk Michael were victors last week against IoMSC Sandsiders but this week the opposition came from Castletown and the visitors proved to be just a little too strong for the nine man team of Kirk Michael. The two ladies of the hosts, Suzanne McKnight and Perryn Callister both posted 97’s (could that be due to the new jacket Perryn ?) but Nigel Christian headed the Castletown Division 1 team on 98 with Robin McFee and Steve Gardner very close both recording 97’s
