Majority of students to continue with education

Around 80 per cent of students who received their GCSE exam results yesterday are expected to stay in education or training.

More than 800 pupils collected their grades – the culmination of two years of study in years 10 and 11.

A record 69 per cent passed with grades A* to C – with 19.5 per cent gaining an A or A*.
