The Isle of Man has recently hosted a conference of the Society for Back Pain Research, looking into ‘procedures, placebos and poppycock.’
The society is a multi-disciplinary organisation comprising of professionals from the medical field.
They gathered on Island to take part in a series of debates and discussions with regards to back pain research, scrutinising existing methods and learning about new therapies.
The event was secured after representatives from the Island’s Healthcare division approached the society.
72 delegates attended the conference, among the guest speakers was the doctor to the British Olympic rowing team, Dr Anne Redgrave.
Health Minister David Anderson says it will undoubtedly raise the profile of the Island as an international setting for more prestigious events.
