Bus drivers will go on strike for three days next week.
Workers voted overwhelmingly in favour of a walk-out following a long-running dispute over pay and conditions.
They’ll strike next Thursday, Friday and Saturday. (20th, 21st and 22nd)
They’re angry at the Department of Community Culture and Leisure’s plans to cut their sick pay, holiday pay and paid lunch breaks – a move which they say would slash their wages by around £3,000 a year.
Unite National Officer Bobby Morton says it’s a serious step for members to take and strike action is a last resort.
Mr Morton says unless the DCCL sees sense and takes part in meaningful negotiations, this action will go ahead next week.[play media file below]
