A final reminder has gone out to those people travelling off Island this festive season to ensure they have travel insurance.
Those taking trips to the UK are warned particularly as it’s been identified that only a low percentage of people take out the adequate cover.
If an air ambulance is needed to assist someone after falling ill or injuring themselves the bill can run into tens of thousands of pounds.
In the event of death repatriation costs can also be high, with the price of moving a body from the UK back to the Island ranging between £4,000 and £20,000.
