Anyone considering having their teeth whitened on the Isle of Man should ensure it's with a registered dentist.
That's the advice from the Department of Health which has spoken out after a new European Council directive was issued.
The directive means particular whitening products can only be sold to a registered dentist offering treatment in a practice - it's hoped this will improve safety levels around the procedure.
Head of salaried dentists Carolynn Lewis says while the new legislation doesn't directly cover the Island it's something the Department of Health recommends:
