Chief executive of the Department of Economic Development Colin Kniveton, will begin his secondment in Sark today.
He will carry out a consultancy role to the newly formed government of Sark, the Chief Pleas.
As part of his role he’ll help the politicians create a vision for the future of the tiny crown dependency, whilst helping to balance budgets and identify new revenue streams.
Sark is only one mile wide and three and half miles long with a population of 650 during the winter months.
Despite this Mr Kniveton says the problems they face are very similar to that of the Isle of Man:
