The Treasury Minister has refused to reveal if films made in the Isle of Man have been a financial success.
Douglas South MHK Kate Beecroft quizzed Eddie Teare on the matter in today's House of Keys sitting but was told the information is confidential.
The Minister listed 19 films that have been produced under the management of CinemaNX and the amount invested by the Treasury.
However, Mr Teare said he would not disclose their commercial success, not because of transparency issues, but to protect the interests of the parties invested in the films.
He also said it was difficult to produced any exact figures as the financial success of films is accumulated over a long period of time, with the government having rights to revenue for up to 25 years.
