One of the key figures behind the proposals for a military covenant on the Isle of Man has been speaking to Energy FM about how the idea could help servicemen past and present.

A public consultation on the matter has now closed with government currently analysing the results for a paper to be taken before Tynwald by Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson in due course.

Major Charles Wilson says early indications show strong support for the idea, however it has not come without its critics.

He tells us it is not about financially benefitting the servicemen, but about ensuring they will never become disadvantaged:
