A number of businesses in Douglas are expressing their concern over government’s plans to build a new bus station on Victoria Street.
The Department of Infrastructure is looking at the possibility of installing a new transport hub there and has recently gone out to public consultation on the matter.
However the idea has not been welcomed by many of the businesses trading on the street – with concerns raised over congestion, the environment and potential fire risks.
David McNeil from Deanwood is leading the objection – he’s compiled a report which puts forward the local’s views and say’s the solution is simple – move the bus station to the Bottleneck:
