A new plan to help control marine developments in Manx territorial waters is being developed to help safeguard the sea.
The Department of Infrastructure has gone out to public consultation over its plans to introduce a new Marine Plan.
It looks at creating a stringent, uncomplicated consenting regime that will apply to new applications – looking at economic, environmental and social issues.
Director of planning and building control for the DOI, Michael Gallagher, says territorial waters account for 87 per cent of Island’s territory and are important:
