Beach cleaners will be out in force this weekend aiming to tidy up the Island as part of a UK campaign to tackle the rubbish on Britain’s beaches.
Local Beach Buddies volunteers started the cleanup operation this week and among the finds were barbed wire fencing, fish boxes, tackle and even a sign from Dublin City Council.
Run in conjunction with the Marine Conservation Society, the beach cleans will be taking place at Gansey and Chapel Beach on Saturday and The Lhen and Fleshwick Beach on Sunday.
