The Isle of Man Constabulary will go up against a number of well known companies for a prestigious UK award that celebrates achievements in human resources.
It’s been shortlisted for a People Management Award in recognition of the strong focus on staff development.
The police force faces stiff competition from the Olympics organising committee, HMV and Harrods.
It’s somewhat of a turnaround from six years ago when a survey revealed that the quality of working life in the police was poor.
The winner of the award will be announced on October 17th.
Chief executive of the Department of Home Affairs Mark Kelly says it builds on a previous award for the constabulary in this area:
