Anyone bringing a vehicle to the Isle of Man from the UK or further afield has been reminded of the need to register and licence it immediately.
The Department of Infrastructure has said there is no relaxation period of time for residents to get the required paperwork completed.
Anyone using an unregistered or untaxed vehicle could be liable for prosecution and the police say officers will be proactive in questioning the drivers of vehicles without Manx plates.
Sergeant Allan Thompson from the Roads Policing Unit says a huge investment is made into keeping the roads safe and it’s proper that users should pay the appropriate road tax.
Forms for relicensing and re-taxing vehicles are available online and from the Post Office.
