It would appear that Mark Cavendish won’t be the only local connection the Island will have to the Olympics when they kick off next week.
It’s transpired that local tycoon Trevor Hemmings owns one of the horses that will be used for Great Britain’s eventing team.
Not only that but High Kingdom will be ridden by the Queen’s eldest Granddaughter, Zara Phillips.
The 31 year old World Champion rider has brought High Kingdom up through the ranks from a novice level.
Trevor Hemmings has been a long time supporter of Zara Phillips, providing her with many horses, she’s previously stated she couldn’t do it without him.
Eventing is a multi-sport equestrian event that includes dressage, cross-country and show jumping. It will be held in Greenwich Park.
