The Department of Economic development has performed a U-turn over its decision not to appoint a new head of e-Gaming.
Minister John Shimmin confirmed in Tynwald that the DED’s Business Development Director Tim Craine will take on the job.
Garth Kimber left the post eight months ago and a search for a suitably qualified replacement proved fruitless.
It was then revealed that the role would stay vacant and e-Gaming would have been overseen by a group of five officers from the department.
The decision was seen as controversial by some people as it’s the fastest growing business sector on the Island.
Mr Craine has other responsibilities within the department and this worries Middle MHK Howard Quayle.
