Motorists travelling into Douglas from the south face more disruption from next week.
The Department of Infrastructure is starting a nine week major maintenance scheme between Saddle Road and Quarterbridge on Sunday.
This will involve upgrading the drainage systems, reconstructing the footways, installing new pedestrian crossings, and strengthening the carriageway.
Traffic will be managed using a one way system which will only allow traffic travelling south, out of Douglas, to pass through the work area.
However director of Highways Richard Pearson said there was some good news for motorists:
