Work is due to start on the Island's roads this month that may lead to some closures and temporary speed limits.
It's for the Department of Infrastructure's yearly programme to put down skid resistant surfaces at various locations.
As well as improving safety, the tar and chip dressing seals roads and prolongs the life of carriageways.
It does have it's drawbacks when it's first laid down though as loose chippings can make roads slippery and drivers will have to stick to 20 miles per hour in newly treated areas.
Information of where will be affected will be issued on the roadwatch website over the summer and Energy FM will have the details in our traffic and travel bulletins.
