Plans to give part of Douglas Town Centre a make-over are being brought forward.
There've been complaints from some traders over the state of Castle Street in recent years.
Regeneration of the area was scheduled for 2015 but plans are being made to start some of the work sooner after discussions with retailers.
Pedestrian access between Market Street and Castle Street will be re-paved and new lighting and signage will be installed.
Wellington Street and Nelson Street have had similar work carried out recently and in future the regeneration scheme will be rolled out to Strand Street and Duke Street
