People who need physiotherapy will no longer have to wait to be referred for treatment by their doctor.
From Monday, the Department of Health is introducing a self-referral scheme.
The idea is for patients to be seen quicker, the number of wasted appointments reduced and to cut demand for GP appointments.
Team Lead Physiotherapist Stephanie Maddrell says over 16s with musculoskeletal problems can self-refer from next week and those with longer term problems from July.[Play media file below]
