The Education Minister is to ask for almost £3million to build an extension at one of the Island's primary schools.
Peter Karran will ask for the funds for improvements at Victoria Road Primary School in Castletown at this month's sitting of Tynwald.
The Department of Education and Children already has planning permission for an extension which will include two new classrooms, a multi purpose hall including changing rooms and storage, a community room and a caretaker's office.
There are also plans to improve the kitchen facilities, convert the current hall into a classroom and library and ensure disabled access.
The DEC says the current hall doesn't meet the curriculum needs, whilst the school building needs to comply with forthcoming disability laws.
If approved, the work would start next month, and be completed by summer next year.
