UK fuel fiasco won't affect the Island
Thu, 29 Mar 2012
It will be business as usual in the Isle of Man if UK fuel tanker drivers go on strike.
Union members there have voted in favour of industrial action but no date has been set.
It's already led to panic buying at petrol stations in the United Kingdom and there's been a backlash over advice issued by a politician over storing fuel in jerry cans.
The Office of Fair Trading says Island supplies arrive by sea and have no road tanker involvement.
Local tanker drivers also aren't affected by the same issues as their UK counterparts.
