Two police stations are to close and the number of police officers will be cut.
The Isle of Man Constabulary needs to make cutbacks of £600,000 over the next year, following a reduction in its budget.
Police officers are Crown Servants and not employees, which means they can't be made redundant.
However, 6 posts in total will be lost, mainly by not replacing officers who retire.
The neighbourhood policing system will be cut to 4 areas, with the loss of the Eastern district which covers Onchan, Braddan, Laxey and Lonan.
Those places will come under the remit of Douglas or Ramsey.
Onchan and Braddan stations will close as a result.
Chief Constable Mike Langdon says he's tried to minimise the affect the changes will have on the public..[play clip]
