Lord Mayor visits Isle of Man today

The Lord Mayor of the City of London is visiting the Isle of Man today to learn more about the Island as an international business and finance centre.

Alderman David Wootton will be given briefings on various sectors of the Island's economy, and will also deliver the Chief Minister's International Lecture.

Part of his job is to promote the City of London and British financial services.

Chief Minister Allan Bell invited Mr Wootton to the Island after meeting with him in December last year.

One of his predecessors has previously described the Island as a core asset to the city
