The government is looking to put greater restrictions on which animals can be imported to the Isle of Man.
DEFA is consulting the public on potential changes to the Wild Animals Act.
The list includes species that aren't suitable to be kept as pets for several reasons.
These include welfare issues, potential ecological damage if they were to escape and animals that pose a danger to the public.
Possible changes to the law include bans on keeping any type of monkey, wolf/dog hybrids and certain types of poisonous snakes.
Special licences can be granted for zoos, circuses and for some filming purposes.
The consultation documents are available on the government website.
