It's confirmed the Ben-my-Chree will go into dry-dock in mid-April.
It means the ferry will be out of service for three weeks but the Steam Packet has been able to charter another freight carrier.
The replacement is coming from Northlink Ferries, while the Manannan will take over all passenger and car services.
The Ben is going into dry-dock for a scheduled overhaul which is carried out every two years.
She'll go out of action after the Easter holidays, between 16th April and 6th May.
The company says Manannan will provide excess capacity to cover Liverpool, the Irish routes and Heysham, where connecting coaches will transfer foot passengers.
