Douglas Coastguard crews have braved gale force winds and driving rain to rescue a dog from a cliff.
Rescuers were called out late yesterday afternoon to a gully on the south side of Groudle Beach.
The pet was chasing a rabbit when it fell and became wedged half way down the cliff.
Two coastguard officers had to climb down to reach the animal.
They managed to bring it to safety unharmed.
Crews say the owner did exactly the right thing by calling them.
They advise never to attempt a rescue yourself and always call the Coastguard which has the equipment, the expertise and the experience.
