A group of workers from the Manx Electricity Authority are off to Scotland to help restore power to thousands of homes.
Around 9,000 homes in Argyll and Tayside are still without supplies following yesterday's gales.
It's thought around a thousand homes in south-east England also don't have electricity.
UK power networks made a call for help for Scottish Power as it tries to reconnect customers.
Overhead linesmen and vehicles from the MEA were due to leave the Island tonight to assist, but will now travel on the next available sailing after tonight's crossing was cancelled.
The trip is being funded by Scottish Power.
