Quayside development refused by planners
Thu, 24 Nov 2011
Planning permission has been refused for a new development on Douglas Quayside.
An Onchan based-company called Viking Containers Limited made an application to build a block of 12 flats with a retail unit on the ground floor at Bridge Road.
The plan also sought permission to demolish a small block of corporation flats, some outbuildings and Bridge House, which is next door to the Railway pub.
However, it's been ruled that the height, design and appearance of the development wouldn't be suitable for the area as it would be out of character.
