One of the all time TT legends, John McGuinness has confirmed that he will appear as a guest at the 2011 Manx Grand Prix Festival.
The ‘Morecambe Missile’ will play host to the guests at the official MGPF VIP Club on the final race day, Friday 2nd of September.
The Honda Fireblade machine John took to victory earlier this year in the Dainese Superbike and Pokerstars Senior TT Races will also be on display in the VIP Club throughout the day. Later John will complete a closed road parade lap of the Mountain Course at the Manx Grand Prix meeting, between the Senior Manx Grand Prix and Classic Superbike Races.
John, whose two race wins at this year’s TT Races took his overall tally of victories on the Isle of Man to 17, also holds the outright lap record for the 37 ¾ mile course of 17 minutes 12.3 seconds (131.578mph), which he set during the 2009 Senior TT.
John will also be visiting the Manx Grand Prix Festival for the weekend of 27th and 28th August when he will be signing autographs and meeting fans at the Grandstand Paddock on Saturday 27th and will be appearing at the VMCC’s Festival of Jurby on Sunday 28th. He will be joined over the weekend by his Honda TT Legends team-mate Keith Amor.
Commenting on the parade John said:
“Things are always very hectic at the TT Races so I’m looking forward to spending some time on the Isle of Man without the pressure of racing. It will be a good chance to meet people and talk to fans.”
He continued:
“It is a real honour to be invited to do a solo parade lap. I’ve done many as part of anniversary celebrations but it will be extra special to go round the mountain course on my own.”
