58,000 anti-depressant prescriptions issues last year

It's estimated around 24% of adults on the Isle of Man take anti-depressants.
The figure was revealed in a House of Keys written answer.
Between 2006 and 2007, 43,500 prescriptions were given out by doctors.
In the last five years this number has gone up to 58,000.
It's a rise of 35%.
In the UK, the amount of people on anti-depressants has risen by 43%.
