Minister says crediting green motorists is too expensive

The Infrastructure Minister says rewarding drivers of all low carbon emission vehicles would cost his Department half a million pounds.
Phil Gawne told the House of Keys that the latest road tax changes only benefitted more environmentally friendly cars purchased after 2009.
The figure was revealed after Rushen MHK Juan Watterson asked why a second hand Toyota Prius costs £123 in vehicle excise duty, but only £35 for a new one.
