A man has been charged with assaulting a woman in Douglas.

The 36 year old Douglas man is accused of inflicting facial and head injuries on the woman last Wednesday.

The accused is known to the woman.

Armed officers arrested the man in Christian Road on Thursday.

Police say no members of the public were at danger between the assault taking place and the time the male was arrested
