The police have issued a warning to the public ahead of the forecast wintry conditions later this week.
The Roads Policing Unit is advising motorists not travel unless absolutely essential if conditions deteriorate.
Those planning to go out on Friday evening are being urged to factor the weather in to their plans. Officers say drink driving will not be acceptable no matter what the weather conditions.
There's also a reminder that the 999 system is for emergencies only. Members of the public are urged to call police headquarters on 631212 for non-emergencies.
Extra officers will be on patrol to ensure everyone is safe.
