The Government has announced we will have an extra Bank Holiday to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The extra day off will be Friday 29th April and was agreed at today's Council of Ministers.
The Island enjoyed an extra holiday on July 29, 1981 to mark the wedding of Prince William’s parents Prince Charles and Lady Diana.
The Chief Minister commented: ‘I am pleased to confirm that Friday April 29 next year will be a holiday in the Isle of Man to celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton. I hope as many people as possible will be able to enjoy this special day and make the most of the long weekend.’
