Driver not being chased by Police at time of crash

The head of the roads Policing team has confirmed a car that crashed into a wall before ending up on its roof last night was not being pursued by Police at the time.

The driver of the blue Volkswagen Golf had failed to stop for a marked Police car earlier in the evening, however, no pursuit was taking place at the time.

The accident happened on Alexander Drive in Douglas shortly before 10 pm, the driver required treatment at Nobles hospital before being allowed to go home.

The accident will now be investigated by Police.
