Steam Packet boss says sorry

The Chief Executive of the Steam Packet Company has apologised for any misleading impression he may have given to the press.

The statement comes following comments allegedly made about Shoprite's use of alternative freight carriers. Mark Woodward confirms that Shoprite via it's trading partnership with 7 Manx hauliers is still a valuable and committed customer of the Steam Packet and the company is happy to withdraw any suggestion to the contrary.

The Chief Executive also recognises the significant contribution that Shoprite makes to the Island's economy.
