Those planning on attending the funeral of Sir Norman Wisdom are being asked to be considerate when parking.
The police are negotiating extra parking with the Department of Infrastructure for Friday's proceedings.
The 95 year old comedy legend died earlier this month.
A cortage will travel along Douglas promenade from 1.25 on Friday lunchtime, with a funeral service taking place at St George's Church from two pm.
Officers are warning that it's likely to be busy in these areas, and ask that motorists avoid them if possible.
A book of condolence will be open after the service in Sir Norman's bar at the Sefton Hotel.
