A Douglas man who fled from a taxi without paying the fare has been jailed for 60 days.
20 year old Mark James Corrin admitted obtaining services by deception.
He booked the taxi to take him from Ramsey to Douglas on August 25th, and told the driver he would go into the house to get the £38 fare.
Corrin later contacted police and made a full confession.
Corrin has been trying to keep out of trouble since February, and is now asking for help from the drug and alcohol team to address a drink problem.
The Deputy High Bailiff also activated a 30 day suspended sentence to run consecutively and ordered him to pay the taxi fare.
