If you're fed up hearing about pampered soccer stars counting their millions, spare a thought for football legend Nobby Stiles
It was announced this week, that the World Cup hero is auctioning off his winners medal from the 1966 final and other football memorabilia because of financial pressures. The 68 year old who recently suffered a stroke said he hoped his treasures would end up with people who will look after them.
Frank Stennett from the Isle of Man Football Association told Energy Fm that he was sad to hear Nobby's story, but it's a reminder of what football is all about. Mr Stennant said that "If you look at grass roots football, not just on the Isle of Man but all around the world, people play for the love of the game."
Don't forget to tune into Super Sport Saturday tomorrow from 2pm where you'll hear all the local football news.
