Onchan Commissioners are tightening up their housing regulations to stop their properties being used as bail addresses.
The Local Authority voted in favour of allowing only the named tenant to be bailed to a property owned by the organisation, without express written permission from the Commissioners.
There was recently a case where two men were bailed to a local authority housing address in Barrule Drive, where neither were a partner of the tenant.
The house had been abandoned by the tenant, resulting in the Authority having to secure and recover the property.
Lodgers of Local Authority tenants in Onchan will now need written permission from the Commissioners before being bailed to the address.
